集装箱租赁是指集装箱租赁公司与承租人，一般为海运班轮公司，铁路、公路运输公司等，签订协议，用长期或短期的方式把集装箱租赁给承租人的一种租赁方式。在协议执行期间，箱体由承租人管理使用，承租人负责对箱体进行维修保养，确保避免灭失。堆场对损坏的箱体按协议中规定的技术标准修复，修理费用由承租人承担。承租人按照协议向租箱公司承付提还箱费及租金。
